Sustainability Block attracted dozens of students and its reach is growing beyond the region

The Sustainability Block – Unusually About Water once again proved to be one of the festival’s key educational pillars. This year, leading experts from the University of South Bohemia and media professionals joined the programme, while students from České Budějovice secondary schools filled the lecture hall at Gymnázium Česká to capacity.

The block featured lectures on the “vascular system of the landscape” with Ing. Eva Semančíková, responsible water use in film and TV production with Viktorie Vítová and Jaroslav Brousek from CNN Prima News, and a highly topical session on micropollutants in drinking water with Prof. Tomáš Randák.

Thanks to live streaming, the lectures remain available online and continue to gain popularity— not only among schools in České Budějovice, but also in other regions, which increasingly request access to the sessions. České Budějovice is becoming an important centre of environmental education with nationwide impact.
